I began to explore design while in the Fine Arts program at the University of British Columbia, as a student of Roy Kiyooka and Robert Young, and as apprentice to naval architect Richard Johnson between 1980 and 1984. Since then, I have worked professionally as both industrial and graphic designer, and as art director for several magazines and arts organizations.
